We encourage you to honor those we've lost in whatever ways feel most comfortable to you. Our Remembrance* slideshow is an annual labor of love that takes a lot of emotional energy and time - we hope that you will spend some time here.
*Content Warning (esp. for trans/enby folks): suicide, homicide - cause of death is noted in most instances. Please take care of yourselves and each other.
Kiowa Awohali (he/him/his)
You may remember him as our featured TDOR&R performer in 2020. This is a song about his own transition. Kiowa is a self taught multi-instrumentalist who writes, produces and plays all the parts of his music. He has toured the US, Canada and South America.
Jupiter Velvet (she/her/hers)
I created Jupiter Velvet as an outlet for me to explore my gender identity and express the parts of me that I was taught to make smaller. Growing up in a Venezuelan and Cuban household, I was not left with a lot of room to explore being femme. Jupiter lets me be anything.
Dhani Shanti (he/him/his)
Dhani Shanti is a queer artist and designer born and raised in Miami, Florida to a mixed Palestinian-Cuban family. He is extremely interested in exploring LGBTQ+ topics, self-expression through body horror, and mental health. He mainly works in digital illustration, but also creates traditional art, theatrical works, fiber art, and more.
Thembo (they/them & she/her)
My name is Rachel. My pronouns are They/She and I am a musician/painter/performance artist from SoFlo. I used to throw DIY femme-centric punk events in my warehouse in Boca, have performed with Edge Zones Art Center, and have done work with Dead South FLA/PC Records.
